These sweet and spicy rolls make the perfect canapé. For best results serve warm from the oven, while the glaze is still sticky. Try serving them with our Indian side dishes for a delicious treat, perfect for any party.
Prep time 20 mins, plus rising | Bake time 15 mins| Makes 10 rolls
200g strong white flour, plus extra to dust
7g dried fast action yeast
1 tsp salt
Zest ½ lime
1 tsp dried chilli flakes
1 tbsp olive oil
For the glaze:
2tbsp runny honey
1tsp dried chilli flakes
Zest ½ lime
- Mix together the flour, yeast, salt, lime zest, chilli flakes, oil and water to form a dough. Tip onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5min, or until smooth. Return to the bowl, cover, and leave to rise for an hour, or until doubled in size.
- When the dough has risen, shape into 10 equal balls and place onto a lined baking tray. Cover and leave to rise again for 30min, or until puffed up. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.
- When the rolls have risen bake for 15min, or until a light golden colour. Mix all the glaze ingredients together in a pan on a medium heat, bubble for 5 min. Brush over the rolls whilst still warm.
